Baar Baar In Khan Market is a modern Indian restaurant which gives you a peak into progressive Indian food. Personally, I’ve never really been exposed to modern Indian food and truthfully speaking I do enjoy the real thing better but Chef Sujan Sarkar sure has a modern vision for Indian food.
The Kashmiri Duck Kulcha was nice, liked the sweetness of the apricots and the saltiness that the Parmesan added but found the kulch on its on to be dry. I would have enjoyed a chutney or gravy with it.
The Paneer Chilli with crispy Katafi was really nice, loved the alam chutney and lemon achaar gel. Though I felt the paneer tasted a little rubbery.
The Jackfruit Tacos were very interesting, a little high in citrus but nonetheless I rather enjoyed the flavour pairing.
Mahi Mahi also known as dolphin fish is a lovely tasting fish with a mild flavour. The miso mustard and chilli peanut chutney were fabulous. This dish was definitely my favourite and I would recommend it, loved the plating too!
The Whole chicken changezi with red pepper makhani was suggested to me by our server as the best selling non vegetarian dish on the menu and ordered it as it is a good dish to share. It's somewhat like a chicken roulade with stuffed chicken keema with gravy and comes with naan. The gravy was a lot like butter chicken so it didn't taste like anything special and the chicken tasted a little overdone to me. I would have rather gone for the fried chicken or the chicken 65 as I was recommended by chef friend of mine who works there.
The service was decent, ambience was pleasant, the second floor is more quite than the 1st and also has an outdoor smoking area. The washroom was clean and the music was barely audible so it makes a good place for a quite dinners with friends or business colleagues but not great in the culinary experience.
