I had been dying to grab a meal at Fig and Maple for really long now and even though it has been a while since it opened, I never got the chance to un till one fine night. I was meeting a very good friend of mine after very long and as we wanted to go somewhere casual, I thought what better place than Fig and Maple(from what I had heard of course). We sat on the terrace which had a beautiful ambience, comfortable seating, perfectly lit with romantic fairy lights and the weather made it all the more beautiful.
We ordered 3 dishes between the 2 of us and I have to say that their portions are rather generous. First came the millet salad with a mediterranean dressing; I liked taste and the concept of the salad but I honestly thought it was way too safe, nothing out of the ordinary.
The roasted pumpkin soup with rosemary was to die for! I would definitely recommend this to a vegetarian who wants to enjoy a comforting bowl of soup on a windy winter evening.
I enjoyed my breakfast for dinner, fluffy scrambled eggs, but I guess the mushroom and spinach in them took away the lightness but none the less I devoured my breka!
@PanDoodle (don't know the chef's real name :P) really knows how to comfort her customer. The service was good and I have to say again that their servings are rather hearty but the 2 of us also did order more than we could finish. The dishes are priced very well because we got a sweet bill of Rs.1,400. A small amount payed for a lovely evening and I'm sure to come back again.
