Eating out is an experience and I’m always looking for new experiences wherever I am. Foxtrot is a new restaurant by the same people who own Mamagoto and Sly Granny in Khan Market and I was waiting to try it. When I saw that their menu had Indian and continental I was a little taken back because I’ve never felt it’s a good mix. When we entered we ran into Gurbani, the daughter of the lady who is responsible for the menu and she told us that the Indian is really good and so we stuck to her recommendation.
From the international small plates we ordered the warm goat cheese salad with walnuts that came with a honey mustard dressing. Classic flavour pairings which makes for a nice starter. It came with a slice of toast with creamy cheese on top, the caramelised walnuts were the star of the dish.
From the Indian small plates we ordered the Ghee Roast chicken taco which was really good. Mildly spicy, flavoursome and the chicken was roasted to perfection. A little ghee is always a good idea so definitely order this one.
From the international large plates we ordered the Earth Bowl because we saw it on another table and it looked really pretty. It’s a healthy vegetarian and vegan combination of millet, lentils, cucumber that came with a lemon tahini dressings, which was spot on. A wholesome healthy bowl that makes for a nourishing meal.
From the Indian large plates we got the Grilled Kolkata Bhetki with millet pulao and moilee sauce. I really enjoy bhetki fish and this one was cooked well. The moilee sauce was very good, perfect balance of sweet and sour. If you like your food extra tangy then a few drops of lemon would enhance the flavour of the dish.
We also ordered the prawn chingri malai curry with cilantro rice. It was good dish but I preferred the moilee to the malai curry. All in all it was a great food experience and we all really enjoyed the meal.
Gurbani was very sweet to put the meal on the tab but I can assure you that every penny spent at Foxtrot is worth it.
I like restaurants with 1-2 page menus, it makes ordering easy. Their portions are just perfect and service is quick. The staff is very friendly and the ambience is warm and welcoming. Very cool place for lunch with family or friends.
