FINE DINING, BAR
JAPANESE, SUSHI, POKE, FINGER FOOD LOCATION: 28, Main market, Lodhi Colony PRICE FOR TWO: Rs. 2,900/ 1,500 TIMINGS: 12 noon to 3:30 pm, 7pm to 12:30 am Guppy is hidden gem tucked away in the Lodhi Colony market which is a great Japanese fine dinning bar. They have a fine indoor restaurant with a pleasant ambience, which makes it great for business meetings as well as casual dinners. If you walk through the restaurant and cross the bar you enter an open courtyard which has bar stools and funky wall art and that leads into a really cool restaurant called Poke bar. It's a very retro chic bar with neon lighting and funky artifacts and is more casual than Guppy. I ordered the Prawn Gyoza; Organic flour and black tiger prawn pot stickers, prawn fried and served with a chili ponzu sauce (Rs.650) They were nice and the sauce was great but the portion was less. I made MY OWN POKE BOWL (Rs.900) with salmon, black rice, blanched kale, edamame beans, chuka wakhame, jalapeno , wasabi pickle, prawn crackers and I really enjoyed it! It came with a soy sauce and wasabi and I shared this as well as the prawn gyoza with my friend and we were just about satisfied. A poke bowl is good for someone who is really hungry, not exactly a sharing dish but that works too. I had a great experience there, I loved the ambience, very different from what you would find in Delhi. Their alcohol selection was good, decently priced, good food, very sweet and friendly staff making it a great place for dinner. They even have a puzzle and other interactive games on the table mat to keep your mind occupied while waiting for what will be a great meal! |
